We are pleased to announce this free emergency responders course opportunity made possible through the Advancing Alternative Fuel Markets Adoption and Growth Project in collaboration with Virginia Clean Cities, Greater Washington Region Clean Cities Coalition, and Maryland Clean Cities. Training weekend partners include Virginia Department of Fire Programs, J. Sargeant Reynolds Community College, Goochland Fire – Rescue and Old Dominion EMS Alliance.

This course, Hybrid & Electric Vehicle Safety for Emergency Responders, was developed by the National Fire Protection Association (NFPA).  It will primarily serve to teach participants to differentiate between myths and reality with regard to hybrid electric vehicle, plug-in hybrid electric vehicle and electric vehicle safety concerns.

What You’ll Learn

NFPA – Hybrid & Electric Vehicle Safety for Emergency Responders

Description: This course provides all first responders with the information necessary to respond to emergency situations involving all electric vehicles and hybrid vehicles on the road today.

Prerequisites: Minimum 18 years old, or be certified to the Firefighter I level.
