BACKGROUND: New charging stations in Charlottesville include three DC Fast Chargers (full charge in as fast as 30 minutes). Charging station locations include Homewood Suites on Route 29 N, 1st St N & Market St Parking Lot adjacent to the Downtown Mall and the Water Street Parking Lot. Partially funded through the City’s EV Charger Mini-Grant Program (www.charlottesville.org/cityEVnetwork), these charging stations address a critical regional transportation need by connecting Charlottesville to all points north, south and east. This initiative shows the commitment of City of Charlottesville, Virginia Clean Cities and local businesses to the most cutting-edge vehicle technologies, cleaner air and environmental sustainability.
